In the year 2009, the calender concept of Merty Energy was “Exploration and Production is an Art.”

The main point in this concept was to underline the uniqueness of different areas and cases although the tools used are in general common.

As well as the uniqueness of the cases and areas ( licences, basins etc.), the challenges encountered and the amount of risks taken in exploration has a great variety. These variety and risks are taken seperately by different companies and specialists and in most of the cases these are tried to be solved by repeating the similar usage of the same tools or by additional tools.

However without any change innovative approaches in the techniques used this time and money consuming effort and generally do not have an effect on lowering the risks taken.

To summarise, the major inputs in lowering the risks in exploration and production, are the himmense changes in used technology and shared experiences. These are best spread with education and training by experts involved in these changes.

Thus, industry gives more value on education and training even more than before and company practices show that “it pays”..
